I have been developing SRA (ELOS / IPL) for 6 months, and hope to be able to launch this package of treatments in the autumn.

I have been invited by Syneron to be the FIRST clinic in Europe to offer Matrix RF.
Matrix RF is a fractional skin rejuvenation technology.
After having reviewed the scientific data, some of which I will be presenting at FACE 2009, and 3 months’ experience treating with this amazing technology, I think it will be as revolutionary as botox.
Why?
Results like medium depth peels but with hardly any down time - perhaps 48h at most, but during that time your skin is dry - none of the weeping or bleeding or oozing often found with Fraxel and LASER based fractional treatments.
I am already seeing good results for acne scarring, pigment problems, smokers’ lines and those resistant wrinkles around the eyes and forehead which injectables cannot treat.
I will shortly be addressing this technology to more significant eyelid tightening, abdominal stretch-marks and neck laxity.

ShapeCYMRU has moved to fabulous new premises at the LAZY FROG FLOTATION CENTRE, 1 Uplands Terrace, Swansea.
This decision has enabled me to integrate all of our body contouring treatments with the holistic therapies already well established at this incredibly innovative centre. The Lazy Frog is the only flotation centre in Wales, and I’m very excited to be involved in extending the range of treatments offered.
I hope many of my patients will experience flotation therapy (it’s powerfully relaxing) and also take up my recommendation to combine Velashape with infrared sauna treatments.

There have been a few recent studies published which have changed the landscape on smoking cessation, particularly in relation to safety concerns about CHAMPIX.
No method alone produces brilliant results, so my combination of acupuncture and thought-modification may be more effective than either alone, and certainly has none of the side-effects or drawbacks of major drug treatment.
I’ll have the details in a substantial review soon.

Brand New You Christmas 2008 edition, a leading review of cosmetic treatments, has reviewed available treatments for cellulite.
Velashape does very, very well indeed.
Copyright issues prevent direct quotations, but the magazine is available from WHSmith.
I am still offering Velashape at £100 per session (at least half national prices) until the New Year.

Evolence is a fantastic product to use for lip enhancements.
It has several advantages over Restylane and Juvederm, due to the fact that it is a collagen enhancer.
Collagen does not cause as much swelling as the hyaluroinic acids Restylane and Juvederm, so it is much easier to assess how much enhancer is needed to create the volume you would like to see - in other words, the result you see at the time of enhancement is what you will see the next day, and long term. It is a much better product from my point of view, but requires quite a bit of skill to use well.
Evolence is more expensive than the hyaluronic acids Restylane and Juvederm, but lasts longer, and for lips, is the better product. Swelling, bruising and that bluish tinge of HA products are worth avoiding.
For Christmas 2008, I’m offering Evolence at £300 for lips, £300 for nasolabial folds and £300 for marionette lines. I offer tear trough and cheek enhancement, but a consultation is required to advise on the price for these complex areas, For nasolabial folds and cheeks, Restylance and Juvederm are great products at only £200 per treatment, and my prices for lips for these enhancers are less - £200 for both Juvederm and Restylance, although I would advise Juvederm in preference to Restylane for lips.
I offer free diamond medical microdermabrasion with all facial enhancements, usually priced separately at £50.

I’ve been developing Velashape and Refirme for body contouring over the last 9 months.
Velashape was initially developed for the treatment of cellulite - and it’s absolutely fabulous for that.
But this technology has really come into its own as a tool for body contouring.
It became obvious within a short space of time that the dramatic skin tightening effects of Velashape could be used to reshape more than just legs and buttocks. I’ve had incredible results with mummy tummy - the post pregnancy sagging that never seems to shift despite weight loss and excercise.
I’ve also seen great results on muffin tops, lower back fat pads and upper arms.
Refirme - another ELOS device - is proving itself equally effective for jowls, cheeks, eyes and upper lips.

The first video, Anthony Davis, is not too informative, but the rest of the videos give a pretty good idea of how Refirme works, how treatments are conducted and what sort of results we get.
The doctors in the US wear goggles (as do the patients) to comply with local legislation, but this is unnecessary as the IR light is low energy, and safe, so we don’t do that here.
Note the US costs !! $3000 for a course - I offer sessions at £100, a fraction of the price.
As ever, my policy at ShapeCYMRU is to protect privacy and dignity by not publishing clinical photographs, so the results photos you see are from other clinics, but reflect my own; also, my own approach to body contouring and reshaping is not done anywhere else I’m aware of in the UK. Most salons are beautician run and don’t use clinical expertise - and some artistry - to use these amazing tools to their fullest potential.
